The investment banker plays a key part in raising capital for companies. Their role is to play the middleman to receive the money from the investors to the businesses that will need the funds rather than dealing with customers directly.  They are to help advise companies how to reach their financial challenges and goals.

An underwriter will be responsible for all the pricing, selling, and organization for large financial service providers such as banks and insurers. Their main role will be to evaluate the potential risk of the client. Both the underwriters and the investment bankers are involved in initial public offerings (IPOs). The IPO is the first time a firm issues stock to the public and sells equity on the stock market.

The role of an originating house and syndicate

                 Others within the investment bankers are the originating house and syndicate. They are a group of investment brokerage firms that will help to buy and resell the issue of stock to the general public.  The originating house will manage the underwriting. The syndicate is a group of other investment bankers or broker firms.
