            In 2008 Starbucks released these financial statements in a meeting with more than 6,000 of their shareholders in attendance.  The press release outlines a series of “innovative customer facing initiatives” that are currently planned by the company to improve its position in the market and to transform the Starbucks Experience. These initiatives include things such as a new proprietary brewing system, the rollout of the Starbucks Card reward program, the launch of MyStarbucskIdea.com, and a new espresso system.  The press release also expands on the planning and market research that has gone in to these new initiatives
